Ask Should a brand delete underperforming posts or leave everything up regardless of the numbers?

Leaving posts up is usually the better call. Old content can pick up views weeks or months later, especially on platforms like Pinterest or LinkedIn where content has a longer shelf life. Deleting posts frequently can also confuse the algorithm and make your account look inconsistent. If a post is genuinely outdated or sends the wrong message about your brand, removing it makes sense. But pulling down posts simply because the numbers were disappointing is rarely worth it. Does removing low-performing content actually help an account in the long run?

In most cases, leaving underperforming posts up is the better choice. A post that doesn't perform well at first can still gain traction later, and older content can continue bringing value over time. Instead of deleting low-performing posts, it's usually more useful to analyze why they didn't perform well and use those insights to improve future content. Removing posts only makes sense if they're outdated, inaccurate, or no longer reflect the brand.

Deleting posts just because they didn't get enough likes or comments may not always be the best move. Not every piece of content will perform the same way, and that is normal. It makes more sense to look at why the post didn't do well and use that lesson to create better content in the future.

I don't think every low performing post should be deleted. Sometimes a post doesn't get many views at first, but it can still be useful to people who find it later. If the information is still correct and fits the brand, leaving it up is usually a better choice. It also gives a chance to learn what worked and what didn't.
