Disagreements are almost impossible to avoid once a working relationship goes on for a while, but how a freelancer responds to them often decides whether the client stays or walks away. Staying calm, listening properly, and explaining your side without sounding defensive usually helps more than reacting immediately. What approach have you found works best when a disagreement comes up, addressing it right away, or giving both sides time to think before responding?
 
You need to develop an empathy mindset if you want to handle disagreement without damaging the relationship with your client. You don't go and start arguing with the client and that doesn't mean that you need to compromise on your own stand as well. You most ready to strike balance in everything you are doing.
