Google has been targeting private blog networks, also called PBNs, for a long time now, but they still exist because not all of them are easy to catch. The ones that get penalized are usually the careless ones, where the sites look obviously fake or share the same hosting and writing patterns. The smarter operators keep their networks looking like real websites with original content and different setups. Google is good, but it is not perfect. What do you think makes a PBN hard for Google to detect?

A PBN becomes harder to detect when it looks like a group of completely unrelated real websites instead of a network. Things like different hosting, unique design, natural-looking content, and no obvious linking patterns can make them less obvious. But in reality, it's still risky Google mainly looks for unnatural link behavior over time, so even smart setups can get caught eventually if the links are clearly built for ranking instead of genuine value.

Private blog networks still exist because even though Google actively targets them, they're hard to fully eliminate. SEO tactics keep changing, and some networks are disguised well enough to avoid detection for a while. Google can penalise them, but not instantly or perfectly, so a few still slip through and operate successfully for some time.

Private blog networks still exist because some people continue to see short-term value in them. Google has spent years detecting and penalizing these networks, but new ones keep appearing as old ones disappear. It becomes a constant cycle where some operators try to stay ahead of detection while search engines continue improving their methods.

Some private blog networks still exist because not every one of them is easy to detect at first sight. A few of them are built in a way that looks like normal websites, so they don't stand out quickly. Even when search engines try to remove them, new ones keep coming up again using different setups and methods.
