The same product can do well with one group of people and fail completely with another because different people have different needs, income levels, and buying habits. A bag shown to young students will not perform the same way as when it is shown to working professionals, even if it is the same bag. Ads work best when they speak directly to what a specific group of people care about. Targeting the wrong audience is one of the biggest reasons businesses waste money on ads. What do you think makes audience targeting so hard to get right?

Audience targeting is hard because people are not static groups they have overlapping interests, changing needs, and different motivations even within the same demographic. Two people of the same age or income can react very differently to the same ad. I also think the biggest challenge is accurately understanding intent, since data like interests or location doesn't always show why someone is actually ready to buy. Without clear intent signals, businesses often rely on assumptions, which can lead to wasted ad spend and inconsistent results.

The same product can perform very differently because people interpret it through their own needs, mindset, and timing. An ad shown to someone already interested or facing a related problem feels relevant and persuasive, while to others it may seem unnecessary or easy to ignore. Context, intent, and even mood at the moment of viewing all shape whether the message clicks or falls flat.
