One of the most confusing experiences in freelancing is sending an invoice after completing everything as agreed, and then getting a surprised or resistant reaction from the client. The number was not hidden or changed, it was part of the agreement before any work began. Yet somehow, seeing it on paper makes it feel different to some clients.
