Is anyone else noticing a big drop in traffic and clicks lately? It feels like with Google's new AI-generated overviews showing up right on the search results, fewer people are actually clicking through to the articles. I'm guessing a lot of others are feeling the same way. It's frustrating because even if you have great content, those quick AI summaries can keep people from visiting your site. What kind of strategies are you trying to get around this? Are you focusing more on social media, email marketing, or maybe creating different types of content? I'd love to hear what's working for others because it seems like we all need to rethink how we get traffic in this new AI-driven world.

Yeah, those AI overviews are really hurting click-through rates. It's annoying because people get their answers right there without needing to visit the actual website. Some people are switching to TikTok and Instagram to build audiences there instead. Others are trying to rank for questions that are too complex for AI to answer properly. The whole game has changed and it's not getting easier anytime soon.

To work around Google's impact, I prioritize content that's genuinely useful to users, like in-depth guides and solving problems people are searching for. I also focus on building authority in my niche by targeting long-tail keywords with less competition. Diversifying traffic sources is key for me, I use social media, Pinterest, and even direct outreach to reduce reliance on Google. This way, even if there's a sudden Google update, I still have other channels driving traffic.

To be honest, the safest approach is to focus on quality content that actually helps people. When your pages answer real questions clearly, they stand a better chance of ranking without trying to game the system. Clean structure, useful info, and honest recommendations go a long way over time.

The old tactic of chasing rankings with boring, SEO-stuffed reviews is dying. Instead, I go where Google has less sway: YouTube communities, Reddit threads, and private email lists. I create genuinely helpful content first, then slip in an affiliate link as a natural fix, not a shove.

I also use "best of" roundups on platforms like Pinterest or Medium, which Google still treats gently. And short-form video? TikTok search is replacing Google for younger crowds. If I build trust there, the click doesn't need page-one rankings.
