People are more likely to click a lock screen message when it feels personal and relevant to what they like. A short message with simple words that clearly says what it offers works best. For example, "Your favorite shoes are now 20% off" sounds more inviting than a plain "Discount available." Including the brand name or app name also helps people trust it quickly. Timing matters too; sending messages when users are usually active increases the chance of getting a click. Messages that sound too promotional or unclear often get ignored. What kind of lock screen messages do you think people find hard to ignore?

Lock screen messages that feel hard to ignore are usually the ones that are short, personal, and give a clear benefit right away. Things like "Your cart item is almost sold out" or "New offer on something you viewed" work better than generic promos because they match what the user already cares about. In my opinion, urgency plus relevance is what really drives clicks if it feels both useful and time-sensitive, people are much more likely to open it.

I think device habit plays a role nobody talks about. Some people check every notification the second it comes in. Others clear them all without reading. No message strategy helps much if the person already decided notifications are noise. You're fighting their phone behavior, not just their attention.

The timing matters more than people think. If someone gets a message at 2pm when they are probably free, they are more likely to tap it. Send at 11pm and it just sits there. The window when people are alert and not busy changes everything.

The name in the notification changes behavior too. A message showing a person's name pulls more attention than one showing a brand or app name. We are wired to notice humans over systems. That's not marketing theory, that's just how people work.
