Keyword difficulty shows how hard it is to rank on search engines for a keyword. If the difficulty is too high, new sites may not rank, and if it is too low, the traffic may also be low. The sweet spot is usually in the middle, where competition is not too strong but people are still searching for it. I think this balance is very important for new affiliate sites, but what difficulty level do you think is a good target for beginners in affiliate marketing today?

Beginners in affiliate marketing should focus on low to medium keyword difficulty, roughly around 10–30. These keywords are easier to rank for because competition is not too strong, but they still get decent search traffic that can bring real clicks and conversions. Starting here helps new sites build authority and gain early rankings faster. Once your site grows and you start getting backlinks and consistent traffic, you can gradually move toward higher difficulty keywords for bigger opportunities.

The sweet spot depends a lot on your website strength. A new site should focus more on easier keywords that have less competition but still good search interest. As the site grows and gets more backlinks, it can slowly move into harder keywords. Jumping too fast into very competitive terms often leads to slow results and frustration.

For most affiliate marketers, especially newer websites, the sweet spot is usually low to medium keyword difficulty. A keyword may have less search volume, but if you can rank for it and attract buyers, it can be much more valuable than chasing highly competitive terms. I like focusing on keywords where the competition is manageable and the search intent shows that people are close to making a purchase.

Keyword difficulty basically shows how hard it is to rank for a search term. For beginners in affiliate marketing, it's usually better to avoid highly competitive keywords. A good starting range is low to moderate difficulty, where competition isn't too strong but people are still searching. This gives you a better chance to rank and build steady traffic early on.
