When your skills get better and the cost of living goes up, you have to charge more for your time. Telling a long-term partner that they have to pay more can feel very awkward because you do not want to lose them. It is better to give them plenty of notice so they can adjust their budget for the coming months. I think explaining the extra value you provide helps a lot. How do you tell them about a higher price?
