Ask Is it true that a small group of loyal repeat clients keeps most successful freelancers financially stable?

From what I have seen, many experienced freelancers do not spend most of their time chasing new clients. They seem to have a small set of people who come back to them again and again. This makes a lot of sense because finding new clients takes a lot of effort, time, and sometimes money. Having someone who already trusts your work just feels easier and more reliable. Have you found that most of your income actually comes from just a handful of repeat clients?
