Many freelancers want to show proof of the kind of clients they have worked with, and dropping a recognizable name on your profile can help build trust with new clients. But this is not always allowed. Some platforms have rules against it, and some clients include confidentiality clauses in their contracts that prevent you from naming them publicly. Even if the platform allows it, the client may not have agreed to be mentioned. It is one of those grey areas that can cause problems if you are not careful. Have you ever asked a client for permission to use their name as a reference on your profile?
