Sometimes a client is eager to begin work and skips talking about payment, and that can feel confusing. Payment terms mean how and when you will be paid for your work. It may sound like trust, but it can also bring problems later if nothing is clear from the start. I think it is always safer to agree on money matters early. What do you think about this situation, and how do you bring up payment without making things feel awkward?

It's exciting that they're eager, but skipping money talk can lead to awkward moments later. Payment stuff is about making sure everyone's on the same page about rates, deadlines, and invoicing. Sometimes it just means they're not thinking about it, but other times it could hint at commitment or budgeting issues. Best move? Bring it up casually before starting. Frame it like, "Hey, just want to make sure we're on the same page with payment

For my own side, I wouldn't recommend seeing that as a good sign. When payment terms are not discussed early, it can lead to confusion later. Both sides may have different expectations, and that can cause problems when it's time to get paid.

It is not. It is always better to discuss the payment term first. Doing this will make it easier for the two of them to agree on whatever each of them wants to pays before the marketers start working. This will prevent them from having misunderstanding about the payment later.

Honestly, it's not really a good sign more like a red flag if payment isn't discussed early. Sometimes it comes from excitement, but it can easily lead to confusion, delays, or even not getting paid. It's always better to be clear upfront, and most serious clients actually expect that. The best way to bring it up without awkwardness is to keep it casual and professional, like confirming the scope and timeline and then adding "let's also quickly align on payment terms so everything is clear." It shows you're organized, not difficult, and it helps avoid problems later.
