When I was setting up my Google ads campaign I have an option to choose the ending late for the ads. Since that time, I've thinking of how long Google Ads campaigns typically last. I know some people run short-term campaigns for promotions, while others keep ads running continuously to maintain visibility and I wish to know how they are doing it.

I know I need to keep monitoring the ads consistently to see the performance. I plan to adjust based on performance metrics can help extend the lifespan of a successful campaign while keeping costs manageable.

How long do you usually run your Google Ads campaigns, and what determines when you pause or stop them?

Google Ads campaigns can last as long as you want, from a single day for a promotion to continuous campaigns for long-term visibility. The duration usually depends on goals, budget, and performance. Most advertisers monitor metrics like click-through rate, conversions, and cost per acquisition to decide whether to continue, adjust, or pause campaigns. Pausing or stopping typically happens when ads underperform, costs outweigh returns, or the promotional period ends.

For me, it really depends on the goal of the campaign. If it's a short promotion, I might only run Google Ads for a week or two. For ongoing brand visibility, I keep campaigns running continuously but adjust budgets and keywords regularly. I usually pause or stop ads when the cost per click gets too high or the conversion rate drops, so monitoring performance is key to deciding how long they last.

The duration of Google Ads depends entirely on how you set them up. Ads can run indefinitely or for a specific time frame, based on your campaign settings. You control the start and end dates in the campaign setup. If no end date is specified, the ads will continue running as long as your account has funds and the campaign is active.

The Google ads can last as long as your budget last. There are different packages you can opt for. Sometimes people continue to fund the activeness of their ads if the performance metrics is encouraging or progressive while some terminate due to bad results from the impression or

The time it takes from when you first create your ad to when it appears in the search engine results page (SERP) will vary depending on the keywords you target. While most of the ads appear in the SERP within minutes, some keywords may take a few days to show your ads. The main reason for this is that even if your ad is fully active and approved, the ads need to get approved by Google. There is a system in place which automatically approves all ads within a few hours but sometime it may take days.
