I am a freelancer of level 3 on fiverr and upwork. I provide graphic design logo design brand design and other design related stuffs. Recently I was able to land a custom offer to design a logo for a multinational companies. I was given all the necessary materials to make the work easier and faster. Later I got to see that I was underpaid on the project.

The question I want to ask you guys is that How do freelancers negotiate better price on custom projects? I will be looking forward to your response in the comment section thanks in advance.

Negotiating better prices on custom projects can be challenging, but here are some tips that may help you in similar situations:

1. **Research the Market Rates:** Before accepting a project, make sure you have a clear idea of the market rates for similar projects. This will help you determine a fair price for your services and negotiate confidently.

2. **Highlight Your Value:** Emphasize the quality of your work, your experience, and the value you bring to the project. Explain how your design will enhance the client's brand and bring them results. This can justify a higher price.

3. **Provide Detailed Quotes:** Break down your pricing for the client so they understand the value they are getting for the price. Include the time required, revisions included, and any additional services you are providing.

4. **Set Boundaries:** Clearly define the scope of work and any revisions included in your initial quote. If the client asks for additional revisions or scope changes, you can negotiate additional charges based on your initial agreement.

5. **Showcase Your Portfolio:** Present your previous work to showcase your skills and expertise. Clients are more likely to pay higher rates if they see the quality of your work and the results you have delivered for other clients.

6. **Negotiate with Confidence:** Be confident in your skills and the value you provide. Clearly communicate your reasons for requesting a higher price and be willing to walk away if the client is not willing to meet your rates.

7. **Build Long-Term Relationships:** If the client is not willing to pay your desired rate for this project, consider negotiating a lower rate with the possibility of future projects at a higher rate. Building long-term relationships can be more beneficial in the long run.

Remember that pricing is a delicate balance between what you believe your work is worth and what the client is willing to pay. Negotiating better prices takes practice and confidence, so don't be afraid to advocate for yourself and your services.
