When someone reads a post and feels like it was written just for them, they are more likely to engage, share, or buy. General content tries to appeal to everyone but often connects with no one deeply. That said, there are moments when broad content works well, like awareness campaigns. Do you think highly targeted content is always the smarter approach in digital marketing?
 
Highly targeted content is usually more effective, but it's not always the smartest approach in every situation. When you go too narrow, you can limit reach and miss out on potential audiences who are still interested but don't fit a strict profile. The best strategy is often a mix use targeted content to drive conversions and engagement, and broader content to build awareness and attract new people. It's really about matching the level of targeting to the goal of the campaign.
 
I don't think it always outperforms general content, but it often gets stronger engagement. When content speaks directly to a specific type of person, it feels more relevant and personal. People are more likely to stop, read, and respond because they feel the message was made for them. The trade-off is that the audience size may be smaller.
 
For me, it depends on the goal. If I want to reach as many people as possible, broader content can work well. But if I want conversions, sales, or meaningful interactions, content aimed at a specific audience usually performs better. A message that solves a particular problem often connects more deeply than one that tries to appeal to everyone.
