Ask Why does building a big audience on one platform not help you grow at all on another?

People talk about follower counts like they travel with you, but they really do not. Each platform has its own culture and its own type of audience. Someone who follows you on Twitter got used to the way you write short, punchy thoughts. That same person may never even find your YouTube channel, and even if they do, the format feels completely different to them. You are essentially starting over with strangers who have no history with you. Growth on one platform just does not transfer. Do you think platforms will ever make cross-audience growth easier for creators?
