Many people in affiliate marketing often face the choice of whether to share their niches or keep them private. A niche is the specific market or topic someone focuses on, such as travel, beauty, or technology. Some prefer to keep this information secret to avoid competition or unwanted judgment, while others openly share because it feels easier than hiding it. Explaining affiliate marketing can also bring unexpected reactions, since not everyone understands how earning a commission through product recommendations works. Some might dismiss it as unreliable, while others get curious and start asking how to begin. Have you found that being open about your niches leads to helpful conversations, or does it usually create confusion and doubt from people who do not fully understand the idea?

Keeping niches private feels safer for many people. Once a niche is shared, it can attract copycats or people who try to take the same angle. On the other hand, sharing can sometimes bring new ideas or even partnerships. Maybe it depends on who the niche is being shared with. Do they really understand the space, or will they just see it as another way to compete?

It's not always about competition. Some people just don't want to deal with extra questions or opinions when they explain what they do. Friends or family often don't get affiliate marketing, so they think it's not serious work. That can be discouraging. At the same time, being open might inspire someone else to start, which can actually be positive.

I think it's a personal choice. Some people share their niches openly because it helps build trust or inspire others. But if you think sharing might lead to competition or someone copying your work, it's okay to keep it private. Protecting your hard work is important. You can still talk about your experience in general terms without giving away too much. Just do what feels comfortable for you and your business goals.

For me, I usually don't go around telling people the exact niches I'm working in. It feels better to keep things simple and not share every detail with everyone. Not because there is anything wrong with sharing, but because it is easier to focus without too many outside opinions or distractions coming in.
