Are you always all about satisfying your clients even at your own expenses?

Some freelancers will tell you that they are not doing for the money. They are only after the clients satisfaction. They don't mind what it takes them in as much as the clients are satisfied. While this may be a good feature of a good freelancer, not all freelancers can allow working at the satisfaction of the clients. They rather prefer breaking even. What do you think about this?
