Ask What is a good starting budget for Google Ads?

I have finished Google ads video course I bought several months ago. I want to start running ads now and I'm considering launching my first Google Ads campaign. Right now I still trying to figure out the initial budget I need for the campaign. I have read somewhere in which someone suggest starting with at least $10–$20 per day and increase as time goes on.

I hope it's good to starting small is fine as long as you focus on specific keywords and audiences to stretch your budget. Over time, scaling up based on performance might be the best approach.

What starting budgets have worked for you, and how did you decide on the amount?

One thing I'd add is to pay attention to conversion tracking from day one. Even with a small budget, if you track which clicks turn into leads or sales, you can quickly see what's working and what's not. That way, when you scale your budget, you're not just spending more you're investing in campaigns that actually bring results. Also, don't be afraid to experiment with ad copy or different match types for keywords small tweaks early on can make a big difference in cost-effectiveness.

I started with $15 a day when I ran my first Google Ads campaign, and it worked fine for testing. I focused on a few very specific keywords that matched exactly what I was offering. This way, I didn't waste money on irrelevant clicks. After about two weeks, I looked at the results and only increased the budget for ads that were actually getting sales.

A good starting budget for Google Ads is around $500 to $1,000 per month, depending on your goals and industry. For daily budgets, you can start with $10–$30 per day to test campaigns and collect data. This allows you to understand which keywords and ads perform best without overspending

It's a great question. I think this is the most asked question I have come across. What should I budget? How much should I budget? Your budget, how much you are prepared to lose in the first place? If you are new to Google ads or any kind of advertising, first of all, you need to test what's happening and what's not happening.

It's not a case of just throwing a campaign up on Google or Facebook. Putting in some budget and then from day one you are going to start to generate leads or sales. If that was so easy, everybody would be doing it and everyone would pretty much be a millionaire.

The advertisers who win in this game is those who are prepared to invest in testing first of all. When you are running a campaign from zero data, we need to buy that data, that intelligence from Google.

You can start with a budget of $10–$20 daily and run this for 2–4 weeks, then scale what works and kill what doesn't. Within this time frame you would have gotten direction in a way. If you go below this amount Google won't learn fast enough to exit the learning phase. And above it, can be risky because you might be overspending before you know what converts.
