There are many a time when social media marketers would complain that people don't trust them. I know some people that have worked tiredly to get the attention of the visitors and guests but to no avail.

Some have seen social media platforms as a den of thieves where there are many fake people that are only out there to take advantage of the gullible. Why do people always have this misconception about social media marketing?

There's just so much content out there, and it's hard to tell if it's real or if someone's just trying to sell us something. Plus, we've all seen the headlines about data leaks, fake reviews, or creepy ads that know way too much about us. We also get the sense that social media algorithms are making sure we only see what'll get us to click, making it feel like we're being played.

Lack of trust in social media marketing comes from how many fake promises people see online. There are so many ads that exaggerate results or show unrealistic lifestyles, so users start to doubt almost everything they see, even when some offers are actually real and useful.

You know many people think that way because social media already has too many fake ads, fake giveaways, and scam messages everywhere. After seeing those things many times, trust becomes low even for honest marketers. Some users now believe every promotion online is trying to collect money from them without giving real value back.
