There is a pattern some clients have where they want to know who else you are working with and how much time you are giving other people. It feels less like professional curiosity and more like they want to be your only priority even though they are not paying a retainer for that kind of access. Being a freelancer means managing your own time and taking on the work that keeps your income going, and no single client should have a say in how that is structured. Have you dealt with clients who expected full schedule exclusivity without offering anything that would actually justify it?
