Ask Why do I get high open rates but almost no sales from email?

Sometimes people open an email because the subject line sounds interesting, but the message inside doesn't guide them toward a clear next step. Many readers also open emails out of habit without planning to buy anything. If the email talks mostly about features without explaining how the product solves a simple problem, the reader may lose interest quickly. Another thing that affects sales is the link placement. When links are hidden at the bottom or mixed inside long text, people may not notice them. Clear examples, simple benefits, and one direct action usually help more than long explanations. What kind of email layout do you think encourages more people to take action?

High open rates just mean people recognized your sender name and got curious about the subject line. That does not mean they read the whole email or cared about your offer. They might scan the first few lines, see it is a sales pitch, then delete it.

You are right. Open rates tell you almost nothing about whether your message worked. The best thing to check click rates. If people are opening but not clicking anything, your email content is not interesting enough to drive action.

Your list could be full of people who subscribed for something free and have zero interest in buying. They joined to get a download or discount code, never planning to purchase anything else. These subscribers will keep opening emails out of habit or curiosity, but they are not buyers.

That is true. No matter how good your offers are, wrong audience means no sales. If most joined through freebie offers, your list is built for engagement, not revenue.

Maybe your emails do not ask for the sale clearly enough. Or you bury the offer at the bottom where most people never scroll. Put your call to action early and make it obvious. People will not take action unless you directly ask them to.

The products or prices might not match what your audience wants or can afford. People like your content enough to keep opening emails, but when you try to sell, the offer does not fit their needs or budget. They stay subscribed because they enjoy the free value, but they will never convert.
