Snapchat uses several traffic sources for user acquisition, including organic social media campaigns, influencer marketing, and partnerships with other apps. They leverage their own advertising platform to run targeted ads, encouraging new users to download the app. Snapchat also benefits from word-of-mouth referrals and viral content shared by existing users. Collaborations with tech companies and events help to boost visibility. Additionally, Snapchat runs cross-promotions with other platforms like Instagram and Facebook, redirecting users from these networks. Their in-app features, like lens challenges or geo-filters, also drive user acquisition through engagement and shareability.

I know more of organic traffic. And this can be gotten if the users make use of the SEO strategies just like the way it is needed to be made use. The platform makes it easier for the users to promote their video posts on any website and even social media.

From what I've seen, Snapchat didn't rely on one traffic source alone. It grew fast because people invited friends directly. When someone joined, they wanted their friends there too, so word of mouth did a lot of the work. Young people talked about it in schools and online, and that spread very fast. Snapchat also got attention from app stores because downloads increased quickly. That visibility brought even more users without heavy ads at the start.

Snapchat used several traffic sources for user acquisition, including word-of-mouth marketing, which helped it grow quickly among younger audiences. They also leveraged app store optimization (ASO) to make the app more visible to potential users. Additionally, Snapchat ran paid ads on platforms like Facebook and Instagram to drive downloads, targeting people interested in visual communication and social media.

I don't I will wrong to say that Snapchat traffic grew mostly through organic word-of-mouth since it is teens dominated platform. The teens built the platform by inviting friends because Stories and Lenses were fun and exclusive. For their acquisition I feel they Lookalike Audiences to find e1d5 and Sponsored Snaps, Story Ads, AR Lenses etc
