What should I include in the first sentence of my Upwork cover letter?

Your introduction goes a long way when it comes to freelancing. Most of the times, woke freelancers make the mistake of explaining and introducing themselves over and over again. The clients don't want to listen to you. What they want is making sure that you can offer them solutions to whatever things that may be happening to the clients. Let them know how you can make use of your experience to get these solved.

I don't think there is one perfect first sentence. The best one depends on the job. Sometimes mentioning a similar project works, other times pointing out the client's goal works better. Copying the same opening for every proposal can make things look lazy.
