Ask What percentage of my website traffic should come from mobile?

Many websites get a part of their visitors from phones because people spend more time online using mobile devices. For most businesses, mobile traffic should be around half of total visits, and sometimes higher. This is because people check sites while commuting, relaxing, or scrolling during short breaks. If mobile traffic is low, it may mean the site is hard to use on phones or not ranking well on search. Checking traffic data often helps you notice patterns and decide what to improve next. What do you think about that?
 
It depends on what the site is about and who visits it. A news site or entertainment blog will get way more mobile visitors than a software documentation page. So instead of chasing a number, it makes more sense to check what your own traffic data says and then make sure the site works well for whatever device most people are using.
 
Most websites today see more than half their traffic coming from mobile. That number has been growing for years and it is not slowing down. But the real question is not just how much traffic comes from mobile. It is whether those mobile visitors are doing what you want them to do.
 
People keep asking about the right percentage but that question misses the point a little. What matters more is whether your site is ready for mobile users. A slow loading page on a phone will drive people away no matter what your traffic split looks like.
 
Some websites are just not built for mobile use, and that is fine depending on the niche. A platform designed for developers or heavy spreadsheet work may naturally attract more desktop users. So if your mobile traffic is lower than average, it does not automatically mean something is wrong.
 
Markets in Africa and parts of Asia tend to show much higher mobile usage because many people access the internet mostly through phones. So if a big chunk of your audience is from those regions, expecting 70 percent or more mobile traffic is not unusual at all. Know your audience before you judge your numbers.
 
From my experience, there is no strict rule for the exact percentage, but mobile traffic is usually the largest share for most modern websites. Many sites see around 50% to 80% mobile traffic, and in some niches it can even be higher depending on user behavior and location.
