Ask What makes a Google Ads quality score drop even when the ad copy looks fine?

Quality score is Google's way of rating how relevant your ad is to the person searching. It looks at three things: how good your ad copy is, how relevant your keywords are, and how useful your landing page is. If your landing page loads slowly or does not match what the ad says, the score drops even if the ad itself reads well. A keyword that is too broad can also hurt it because your ad ends up showing for searches it has no business appearing in. Have you ever had a quality score issue that surprised you even when your ads looked good?
 
Many people forget that Google looks at how fast your landing page opens. If your site takes too long to load, the score will drop even if your ads seem great. You should check your page speed tools to see if there is a problem hidden behind your content.
 
Sometimes the problem is not about the ad words at all. You might be targeting the wrong audience or your keyword match is just too wide. If people click but leave right away, Google notices that behavior and lowers your score because they think your page is not really relevant.
 
Have you looked at the history of those specific keywords? Sometimes a score drops because the click through rate has been low for a while. It is a good idea to remove old keywords that do not bring any results. A clean account usually keeps the score much more stable.
 
Some people ignore the historical performance of their campaigns. If your account had bad results in the past, Google remembers that and might penalize new ads. You should try creating a new campaign with better settings to see if the score improves. Keep things simple and very specific for now.
 
Really, for me, I am sometimes surprised when an ad looks strong but still gets a weak quality score because of the landing page experience. A page can look fine visually, but if it loads slowly on mobile or the content does not match the ad closely enough, Google reacts badly to it.
