Reach is simply how many people see your content or ad. If a post appears on five thousand people's screens, your reach is five thousand, even if most of them scroll past without doing anything. Engagement is different because it measures what people actually do after seeing that content, like liking it, commenting, sharing it, or clicking a link. A post can reach a large number of people but still have low engagement if the content does not connect with them. Both numbers matter, but engagement usually tells you more about whether people actually care about what you are posting.
 
Reach shows how many people have been exposed to your content, while engagement shows how many of them actually interacted with it. Reach is about visibility, but engagement is about interest and connection. A post can reach thousands but still perform poorly if people don't react to it. From a practical point of view, engagement is often more valuable because it shows whether the content is meaningful to the audience, not just seen by them.
 
Reach is like how many people pass by a shop and notice it, while engagement is how many of them actually walk in, talk about it, or make a purchase. In digital marketing, reach focuses on exposure to a wide audience, whereas engagement shows meaningful interaction with the content, proving how well it connects with people.
