If 2025 taught freelancers anything, it is probably that depending on one or two clients for most of your income is a real risk. When those clients cut back or disappear, there is nothing to fall back on, and rebuilding from scratch takes time. Many freelancers also learned that having some savings set aside makes a big difference when work slows down unexpectedly. It was a year that showed how quickly things can change.
