A high bounce rate in Google ads can happen for many reasons. Irrelevant ad targeting leads visitors to the wrong pages. Slow website loading drives users away quickly. Poor landing page design confuses visitors. Misleading ad headlines create a bad user experience. Lack of a clear call-to-action leaves users unsure. Mobile-unfriendly pages frustrate mobile users. Low-quality content fails to hold attention. Broken links in ads waste user effort. Overuse of pop-ups makes users exit immediately. High bounce rates hurt your campaign performance. You can reduce them by improving page speed, targeting, and providing clear, relevant, and engaging content.

This can happen for several reasons. First, the ad might be misleading or not match what users expected, so they leave immediately. Slow-loading pages or poor mobile optimization can also frustrate visitors. If your landing page design is confusing, cluttered, or lacks a clear call-to-action, people won't stick around. Sometimes, targeting the wrong audience or using broad keywords brings visitors who aren't really interested. Even pop-ups or intrusive ads on the landing page can drive users away.

One reason that your target customers might leave your site is a lack of readability. User experience begins when your content is readable and legible. Specifically, large chunks of text scare readers away, so avoid them and use a good amount of space and methodically place headlines and sub-headlines.

I think high bounce rates in Google Ads usually happen because the landing page experience is weak. Visitors expect fast, relevant, and easy-to-read content. If the page takes too long to load, is cluttered, or doesn't give clear next steps, people leave immediately. Sometimes the ad copy itself is the problem if it promises something different than what the page delivers. Matching the ad to the page, improving speed, and simplifying navigation helps keep visitors engaged and lowers bounce rates.

There are many reasons why people that visit your pages may decide to leave the page without carrying out anything on the page. The first is that the website may be too slow in loading, making some users frustrated and decided to leave even without taking any action.
