I want to offer free trials on my membership site, but I don't know the best way to do it. Should I limit access to certain features or give full access for a short time? I also worry about people abusing the trial and never paying. Is there a way to prevent that? Should I ask for credit card details upfront or keep it completely free? I want to attract real members, not just free users. What's the best way to set up free trials without losing potential revenue?

No credit card trials bring in more people, but many won't convert to paying members. Requiring a card filters out people who were never going to pay anyway. It feels like a barrier, but it actually helps because the people who sign up are already more serious about staying.

One thing worth thinking about is making the trial short, like three to five days. The longer someone gets free access, the less urgent it feels to pay. A shorter window creates enough pressure for serious people to make a quick decision without feeling rushed or manipulated.
