Ask Should you do your first freelance job for free just to get a review?

Working for free to get your first review is one of those ideas that sounds helpful until you think about it too long. On one hand, having even one positive review on your profile can make a real difference when clients are deciding who to contact. On the other hand, working without pay sets a tone that can be hard to change later, and not every free client will even leave a review after the work is done. I want to know if people who did their first job for free actually found it helped their profile or if they regret the decision.

You don't have to do free Jobs before you can get your first review in fact it can get you penalized on the freelance marketplace you are using. Also doing free jobs is not possible on some platforms as the required to get their own commission from the transaction between freelancer and the client
