Should you fall for scope creep from your first client just to secure them?

There is nothing many cannot do for their first clients. Most of the times, they do that to secure them. Among the common things that they always do is to make sure that they do scope creep. They don't mind do extra task for them in as much such tasks will keep them. Some have said that it doesn't make sense. New freelancers should not be given any scope creep just to secure them. What do you think?

Getting your first client is exciting, so people often say yes to everything. The problem starts when you get used to doing extra work without extra money. It makes sense to be firm from the start because clients respect you more when you have clear boundaries about your tasks.

Many beginners make the mistake of thinking they need to please everyone to grow. It is actually better to do a good job on the work you agreed to do. If you do extra work for free, you are just losing time that you could use for paying jobs.
