Freelancer have different rate especially those who are writing content and producing copywriting information. I know some freelance writers who charge per month the right for the client for every content they produce.

The question I want to ask you guys is that Should new freelance writers charge per word or project? I will be in the comment section waiting for your reply and some of this insight you are going to share me.

As a new freelance writer, deciding whether to charge per word or per project can be a crucial decision that can influence your earnings and relationship with clients. Both pricing models have their own pros and cons, so it's important to carefully consider which one works best for you and your clients.

Charging per word:
1. **Pros:**
- **Transparent pricing:** Charging per word can provide clarity and transparency for both you and your clients, as they know exactly what they are paying for.
- **Fair compensation:** You are compensated based on the amount of work you do, so the more you write, the more you earn.
- **Easy to calculate:** It's relatively easy to calculate your earnings based on the number of words you write.

2. **Cons:**
- **Risk of undervaluing your work:** Charging per word may lead to undervaluing your skills and experience, especially if you are a new writer who is still building up your portfolio.
- **Focus on quantity over quality:** There can be a temptation to prioritize quantity over quality to increase your earnings, which may compromise the overall quality of your work.

Charging per project:
1. **Pros:**
- **Value-based pricing:** Charging per project allows you to focus on the overall value you provide to the client rather than the number of words you write.
- **Room for negotiation:** You can negotiate the project fee based on the scope of work, your expertise, and the client's budget.
- **Incentive for quality work:** By charging per project, you are incentivized to deliver high-quality work within the agreed-upon budget.

2. **Cons:**
- **Uncertainty:** Estimating project costs can be challenging, especially for new freelance writers who may not have a clear understanding of the time and effort required for each project.
- **Potential for scope creep:** Without a clear scope of work, there is a risk of the project expanding beyond the initial agreement, leading to additional work without additional compensation.

Ultimately, the decision to charge per word or per project depends on factors such as your experience level, the type of content you create, your efficiency, and your clients' preferences. It may be beneficial to experiment with both pricing models and see which one suits you best. Additionally, you can also consider a hybrid approach by charging per word for certain types of projects and per project for others.
