I work as a freelance automation expert. I am building Python scripts that save clients 20 hours per week. I am debating whether to charge per script or per value delivered. I am leaning toward value pricing because a 10 line script can replace an entire team process. I am explaining ROI instead of counting lines of code. Clients pay for results not syntax. Charging by script ignores impact and maintenance.


The question I want to ask you guys is that Should an automation expert charge clients by the script built when the real win is time and money saved?
