Working at an agency gives you access to real client projects, different industries, and people with more experience than you. You learn fast because there is pressure to deliver results. Going solo means you move at your own pace, but you also face all the challenges alone without guidance. Agency work builds a strong foundation, especially in the early years. After that, many people use what they learned at an agency to go freelance or start something of their own. What do you think teaches digital marketing skills faster, agency work or self-study?
 
In my view, agency work usually teaches digital marketing faster because you're working on real campaigns with real budgets and real consequences. You get immediate feedback, exposure to different industries, and the chance to learn from experienced marketers. Self-study is valuable for understanding concepts and staying updated, but it's hard to replace the lessons that come from managing actual client projects. The best combination is often both using self-study to build knowledge and agency experience to turn that knowledge into practical skills and results.
 
Working at an agency can speed up learning because you get exposed to different clients, industries, and marketing problems in a short time. There is usually someone more experienced around who can point out mistakes before they become expensive lessons. At the same time, learning on your own teaches independence.
