After that, many people use what they learned at an agency to go freelance or start something of their own. What do you think teaches digital marketing skills faster, agency work or self-study?

In my view, agency work usually teaches digital marketing faster because you're working on real campaigns with real budgets and real consequences. You get immediate feedback, exposure to different industries, and the chance to learn from experienced marketers. Self-study is valuable for understanding concepts and staying updated, but it's hard to replace the lessons that come from managing actual client projects. The best combination is often both using self-study to build knowledge and agency experience to turn that knowledge into practical skills and results.
