Is the charges deducted by the freelancing platforms really worth it?

Most freelancing platforms always charge their users. For instance, Fiverr will get up to 20% from any task that its users are able to secure. One mag wonder if they truly deserve to be deducting charges. The fact is that the platform gives these freelancers the chances of them meeting clients. If the platform is now charging for this, there should not be any issue. What do you think? Do you think they deserve to be charging the money from them?
