I disagree with this. You can build an audience without paying for ads, it just takes longer. Consistent posting, engaging with comments, and creating content people actually want to share can grow your reach organically. The problem is that organic reach on most platforms has dropped a lot over the years. Facebook and Instagram especially push paid content more than free posts now. So while you technically can grow without spending, the algorithm makes it harder. I tried promoting my services for free and got almost no traction.
