It actually depends on how the brand presents it. If everybody knows it was a virtual character, i don't really see any problem there. Entertainment is simply an entertainment. What I don't like is when those companies make it look like they are real people just to deceive people into trusting products. That one is a scam. People are already battling fake news and edited videos everywhere. That will add another level of confusion. Funny enough, some virtual influencers even behave better than plenty of real influencers that goes about promoting anything once there is money to be made.
