The essence of teaching is for the trainees to really understand the topics being taught. No one always likes it when the topics taught are not really understood by the people taught. How would you now be sure as a coach that what you taught is understood by the trainees.

Evaluating them would be the first thing to do. You need to know and find a way of testing them. And a honest feedback should be required may be months after the training.
 
I keep things super simple and clear from the get-go. I explain what's included, what we're aiming for, and how it helps them, without using fancy words. I always tell them to ask questions, and I'm happy to break things down anytime. I check in often to see if they're keeping up or if something's confusing. Sometimes I use stories or examples to make stuff easier to understand. I also ask for their feedback so I know what's working or what's not.
 
The best way to know if they understand is to ask them to explain the concept back to you in their own words. You can say, "Just to make sure I explained this clearly, could you tell me how you would use this in your situation?"
