How will you cope with clients that always rate you low but still coming back?

Hello BMFers,
There is this client I have been battling with. No matter how much I dedicate my time for his tasks, he will always rate me low, and message me that I need to get improved. However, this client keeps on using me. Before I always want to believe he's coming to know whether I have improved but I discovered that despite my being improved, he's always rating me down. And will never stop patronizing me. I don't want to leave him because he's the only constant client I have for now.

You maintain your stand on the price and the service you provide. If you discover that this client is not changing in his attitude towards you then you can total decline taking another gig from him or her. The person is playing a psychological game on you just to get your services at cheaper rate.
