I feel a little unsure about how deep to go with subcategories. I look at different online stores and some have just a few while others go really deep. I cannot tell what makes browsing easier for customers.
I set up a demo e-commerce store with several main categories. I added multiple subcategories under each one to organize the products. I tested navigating through them and it feels like it could get confusing if there are too many.
Now I keep wondering how many layers is too much. I want the store to feel simple to explore. How many subcategories are too many for smooth navigation flow?
