Some clients act like signing a contract is not urgent, and they push to get the work started right away while the paperwork is still pending. It puts freelancers in a difficult spot because you do not want to lose the job, but starting without an agreement leaves you exposed. A lot of experienced freelancers say they learned this lesson the hard way. How do you handle a situation like this, and what do you say to a client who wants to skip ahead before everything is agreed on paper?

It does not make sense for you to start working on the project without signing the contract first. When you sign the contract together with the client both of you are protected. It is only amateur freelancer or desperate one will go ahead and start working on a project when the contract has not been finalized
