I would like to offer discounts on my membership site. But I'm worried about losing revenue. Discounts might attract new members. I assume that they could also lower profits. I don't want to train people to wait for discounts instead of paying full price. There must be a way to balance growth and income. Maybe limited-time offers or special deals for long-term members? I'm not sure what works best.

Discounts work better when they have a deadline. If someone sees a price cut that ends in 48 hours, they move faster. But if the discount is always available, people just wait forever and never feel the need to pay full price at all.

Not every discount has to mean losing money. Giving someone two months free when they pay for a full year upfront actually brings in more cash at once. The member feels like they won something, and the site gets a bigger payment early.
