Sending out a proposal takes real effort, and when a potential client goes quiet or picks someone else, it can sting more than it probably should. Freelancing means your work is very tied to your identity, so rejection rarely feels like just business. After a few losses in a row, it can start to shake your confidence in ways that are hard to explain to someone who has never freelanced. I know it is supposed to get easier with experience, but does it really? How do you protect your confidence and keep going after you lose a client you really wanted?

Most times, clients choose another person because they want a lower price or someone with different skills. It does not mean your work is poor or bad. If you continue to improve how you talk to people and show your best samples, you will surely find the right ones soon.
