Running Google Ads and spending money is easy, but knowing if it is actually helping the business is a different thing. You have to look beyond clicks and check if those clicks are turning into sales, leads, or sign-ups. You also compare what you are spending to what you are earning back, which is called return on ad spend. If the numbers show that every dollar spent is bringing back more than a dollar, the campaign is working. If not, something needs to change. What metrics do you think matter most when measuring campaign progress?
 
The most important metrics are conversions and return on ad spend (ROAS), because they show real business impact not just traffic. Clicks and impressions are useful for diagnostics, but they don't mean much if they don't lead to sales or qualified leads. I also pay attention to cost per conversion and conversion rate, because they tell you how efficiently the campaign is turning interest into results. Ultimately, if revenue isn't growing profitably, the campaign isn't really moving the business forward.
 
To evaluate whether a paid search campaign is truly moving a business forward, you need to go beyond surface-level metrics like clicks or impressions and focus on incremental business impact. The core question is: Did this campaign generate profitable growth that wouldn't have happened otherwise?

The main focus should be on how many of those visitors turn into paying users and how stable that result stays over time.
