How do I keep clients long-term?

One of the issues that most freelancers always face is that they don't keep their clients for long. Majority of them always lose their clients after two patronages at most from them. What can cause this? The first is that majority of the freelancers don't stay consistent online. And some of them are not consistent with the niche that they have chosen as well. All these can be causes for freelancers not to get the best of the service. What is your own opinion?
