How do I handle a subcontractor who misses a critical client deadline?

Things like this occur. There are sometimes that your subcontractor will still miss out the deadlines for the clients' project. In case this happens, don't take it too personal. Make sure you solve the issue first, then ensure that you get such a subcontract corrected in case of another task. But if this has been happening consistently, you don't have any choice other than removing or changing such a subcontractor with another one.
 
This is a serious situation to be very honest. The first thing you should have done is to search a clear boundary and the rules concerning the deadline. Another thing you are supposed to do is that you should give them 2 days earlier deadline to the original one you have from the client. This will help you to get the job for done fast and if the late it will be exactly on the same day from the client
