This sometimes happens in freelancing. There are some times that the clients will not pay up even when the payment is due. Freelancers need to take actions immediately. What do they need to do? The first step is stopping the active work immediately. Then make sure that they send reminders to the clients, reminding them that they have not paid. They should wait for the reply before they continue whatever actions that they want to take.

You can call the company that hand with the payment to complete the payment process for you. This is the reason why I prefer using escrow to facilitate payment between me and the client. Once you complete the project you can simply reach out to exclude to deliver the payment for you
