I sometimes struggle with clients not understanding what I offer.

They ask for things I never agreed to, or they assume I work a certain way. I try to explain, but sometimes things still go wrong. I don't want to disappoint them, but I also don't want to do extra work for free.

Maybe I need to be clearer from the start, but I don't know the best way to do that. Should I use contracts, detailed messages, or something else?
