Ask Do you need networking to grow as a freelancer or can referrals carry your business forward?

Many freelancers say they have never attended a networking event and still built a solid client base through word of mouth alone. Others say that referrals are not enough and that you need to actively put yourself out there to keep work coming in. It probably depends on your field and how strong your existing relationships are. Do you actively network to find clients or has most of your work come through people recommending you to others?
